This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Brent Man and Van has taken, and is continuing to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking from taking place within our operations and supply chains. Brent Man and Van is a transport and removals business that recognises its responsibilities under relevant modern slavery and human rights legislation and is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business relationships.

Modern slavery can take many forms, including forced labour, bonded labour, human trafficking, and exploitation of vulnerable workers. Brent Man and Van is determined that there is no place for any form of modern slavery within our own business or within the organisations that supply goods and services to us.

Our Zero Tolerance Approach

Brent Man and Van operates a strict zero tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking. We will not knowingly engage with or support any organisation, contractor, or individual involved in such practices. Any confirmed instance of modern slavery within our business or supply chain will result in decisive action, which may include termination of contracts, reporting to relevant authorities, and the implementation of corrective measures.

All managers and supervisors are expected to uphold this zero tolerance stance and ensure that it is reflected in day-to-day operations, recruitment activities, procurement decisions, and the selection and management of third-party service providers.

Supply Chain Standards and Supplier Audits

Our supply chain includes vehicle leasing and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, equipment and packing materials providers, and other service-based contractors. Brent Man and Van is committed to working only with suppliers who share our values and who can demonstrate that they operate in a lawful, ethical, and transparent manner.

We communicate our expectations to suppliers and seek assurances that they have policies and processes in place to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking. Where appropriate, we ask suppliers to confirm compliance with applicable modern slavery laws and ethical labour standards as part of our onboarding and ongoing relationship.

Brent Man and Van may conduct supplier checks and audits, proportionate to the level of risk presented by the supplier and the nature of the goods or services provided. These audits may include requests for documentation, self-assessment questionnaires, and, where necessary, on-site visits. Where any risks or concerns are identified, we will work with the supplier to develop corrective actions. If satisfactory improvements are not made within agreed timescales, we reserve the right to reconsider the relationship or terminate it.

Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing

We are committed to creating a working environment in which concerns about modern slavery, exploitation, or unethical practices can be raised without fear of retaliation. Employees, agency workers, contractors, and suppliers are encouraged to report any concerns or suspicions of modern slavery at the earliest possible stage.

Concerns may be raised directly with a line manager or a senior member of the Brent Man and Van management team. Individuals are also encouraged to report matters through any internal speak up or whistleblowing procedures that the company operates. Reports will be treated sensitively and investigated promptly and thoroughly, with appropriate steps taken to protect the confidentiality of those raising concerns wherever possible.

Any employee found to be involved in, or turning a blind eye to, modern slavery may face disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal. We will fully cooperate with law enforcement and other relevant authorities should any allegation of modern slavery arise.

Training, Awareness, and Continuous Improvement

Brent Man and Van is committed to raising awareness of modern slavery among staff, particularly those involved in recruitment, procurement, and supplier management. We may provide training or guidance to ensure that employees understand how to identify indicators of modern slavery, the steps to take if they have concerns, and the importance of our zero tolerance approach.

Following each annual review, Brent Man and Van will update this statement as necessary to reflect any new measures adopted or enhancements made to our approach. The statement is approved by the senior leadership of Brent Man and Van, who are responsible for overseeing its implementation and ensuring that our commitments are upheld across the organisation.
